About me

I’ve always loved words. I once set fire to my bedside lamp, reading in secret when I should have been sleeping. Not recently. But still, that’s how powerful words can be. These days, as a freelance writer and editor in Sydney, I use them to tell stories, share knowledge, stir up memories, spark emotions. I’m a very lucky girl.

Over the years, I’ve written for all kinds of publications and audiences, on almost every topic under the sun. Chairs. Gut health. Ryan Gosling. Chernobyl. Roller derby. Sewing machines. Crying on planes. Bees. I’ve been an expert in all of them, fleetingly.

I also love to edit, from the shortest headline to the chunkiest September issue, because without the right engineering, even the greatest story can collapse into chaos. Angle, detail, colour, structure and polish all have to step up, so that the words can really nail it.
